once upon a time, there was a magician who's performances were so incredible that people would hold their breath, just to see what happened next.cards vanished from between his fingers.
coins appeared from thin air.
rabbits came out of hats. well... most of the time.his greatest trick, however, happened by complete accident. during one particularly disastrous performance - everything imaginable was going wrong - the magician reached into his top hat expecting to pull out a bouquet of roses. instead, he found a tiny white bunny sitting inside, wearing a red bow and looking deeply offended. she had no idea how she got there. he had no idea where she came from. but, she refused to leave.the magician tried everything. he gently coaxed her out with a carrot, offered her a tiny velvet cushion on stage, and after the performance even attempted to place her in a perfectly ordinary rabbit hutch. every time, however, she somehow found her way back into hat. eventually, he gave up and decided that she was simply part of the act now. and to everyone's surprise, she was remarkably good at it.she quickly became his assistant, popping out of the hat at exactly the right moment, stealing cards from his sleeves, and occasionally ruining and entire trick because she thought the props looked more interesting than the performance. the audience adored her. the magician pretended to be annoyed, but secretly began designing his entire act around her.no one really knew what she was, not really.
she certainly wasn't an ordinary bunny, though she did her best to act like one whenever it was convenient.the magician's hat had always felt a little strange. the inside was much bigger than it had any right to be - with velvet rooms, crooked little hallways, hidden doors, and shelves packed with shiny, barely used props. somehow, she knew her way around the place better than anyone else. before long, she claimed it as her own.eventually, being pulled out of the hat wasn't enough for her anymore. she wanted to be part of the show. she started learning his tricks, helping with the props, and knew where everything was like the back of her hand. of course, she also developed a habit of interfering whenever she thought the magician's act was getting boring. a missing card here, a lever "accidentally" pulled there, and suddenly the audience was laughing instead of watching the trick go completely as planned.she had become a proper assistant in her own right, with a wardrobe full of costumes - a flair for the dramatic - and absolutely no intention of letting her magician get too comfortable.she especially loved making a grand entrance. sometimes she would leap out of the hat in a cloud of smoke. sometimes she would appear from behind the magician's coat. sometimes, when the audience least expected it, she would simply climb out of the hat.no one ever discovered where she truly came from. some believed she was a creature born from the magician's magic. others claimed she was a forgotten wish that somehow found its way into his hat. the magician himself had several theories, but she refused to confirm any of them.after all, a good magician never reveals her secrets.
